No, I’m not completely sure why I’d throw him a slider. What with me not knowing how to throw a slider.

Watching Peter swing the bat full force not but five feet from audience members every night (it was theater in the round) made me anxious. Luckily, he’s a pretty damn skilled ballplayer.  He and I played catch across the stage during the entire penultimate scene of the play, a lovely note to go out on.

One of those books everyone read in  high school was given a lovely adaptation by Aaron Posner, and made its way to Louisville.  Though the city does have a sizable Jewish population, the themes of the book - friendship, growing up, the sometimes-quixotic love of our fathers - proved to be universal with all audience demographics.
